Spring Ideas
Read/listen to the poem and explore actions to portray some of the words.
Action words (verbs): – Falling, shining, singing, playing, growing, hatching, skipping, jumping
Objects (nouns): – Rain, Sun, Rainbow, Birds, Children, Flowers, Chicks, Lambs, Frogs
The word ‘Look’ Is repeated, so can you see how many different actions you can create for the words ‘Look’.
- Use a variety of size/levels/directions/speed
- Use whole body or individual body parts
Improvise the Poem
Listen to the poem and respond with your own movement ideas. Don’t think about them just make them up as you hear the words (improvise). You can do this as many times as you like!
Springtime poem
Rain is falling, the sun is shining,
Look, rainbows appear!
Birds singing and children playing,
Look, Spring is here!
Flowers are growing, and chicks are hatching,
Look, signs of spring!
Lambs are skipping, and frogs are jumping,
Spring, what a beautiful thing!
