Alicia's story
Creative Steps began with a simple belief: any teacher can lead a great dance lesson, given the right support. Alicia set out to remove the fear and guesswork from primary dance, replacing it with clear, numbered steps that anyone can follow in the middle of a busy hall.
Dance is the subject many teachers feel least confident delivering, so she set out to change that. She built a full scheme of work - from Reception through to Year 6 - with lesson plans, printable resources and original music written for each unit. Nothing generic, nothing bolted on: everything is designed to be picked up and taught the same day.
That same "you don't need to be a dancer" ethos runs through every part of Creative Steps today, and it's why schools across the country now teach dance with confidence.
